I am Not a Lumberjack and I also’m Not Really OK; Angry Gambler Strikes Back

Февраль 13, 2020

Perhaps Not everyone carrying an axe is really a lumberjack

Ever seen a lumberjack in a casino? Most likely not, since most lumberjacks do not carry their axes generally around with them on nights out. But two stories have popped up in the news showing that non-lumberjacks don’t necessarily stick to these rules.

Axing For Trouble

The first of those two tales of violence took place in a village bar in Fontaniva, Italy, in which a disgruntled gambler decided to exact his revenge on some slots that are unsuspecting after losing 5,000 euros (over $6,500) in two weeks.

The father of two, aged 48, was caught on CCTV cameras, footage of which has since stormed the media and movie streaming websites, where audiences can watch the gambler smash up seven machines as nearby customers dive for cover.

The machine hacker calmly strolls out of the bar, but not before giving a thumbs up towards the one-armed bandits after blowing off steam. Either this was a sign of victory, or a show of friendship towards these specific machines. When dealing with crazy, interpretations are anyone’s guess.

The anger-released slot axe-murderer then waited calmly for arrest outside a bar that is nearby.

‘ He comes in here all the time to try out the machines,’ said who owns the bar, who chose probably wisely- to remain nameless. ‘ He’s had some wins, but he spends a great deal of money. He could be a laborer and only works any now (далее…)

Февраль 13, 2020

University admission has now been my career for almost eight years, but prior to jumping onto this side associated with the desk, we invested two years as a school that is high in my home state of Louisiana. I was never formally the school’s ‘college counselor,’ so I was spared from having to compose hundreds upon hundreds of letters of recommendation. But during those couple of years, due to my role as moderator associated with learning student Council, I happened to be in a position to get acquainted with a range seniors have been going right on through the admission process. I am sure will leave a great number of students dissatisfied, confused, and questioning our judgment, a particular meeting with one of my favorite Student Council members is fresh on my mind as we prepare to mail out decisions regarding our scholarship decisions, which.

With regard to this whole tale, let’s call him Scott. Scott was the superstar of our school. He was Class President each year during senior high school, he was the pep rally emcee, and if I were to continue detailing all his accomplishments, I would go well over the word limitation that this blog allows. To top it well, he was just an incredibly likeable kid. We got to know Scott real well since I relied on him for so much of what our Student Council was expected to do. Scott had the last amount of our school day down, in order my day was winding down, he’d often come by (далее…)

Февраль 13, 2020

Question: Have you seen that movie, Admission with Tina Fey? Can be your job really like that?

Yes, I’ve seen that movie. In fact, We viewed it on a Virgin America flight a few years ago on my way to NYC for certainly one of my recruitment trips (How meta is?) Tina Fey plays an admission counselor from a very selective university, and there’s a scene of her doing senior high school visits that made me personally giggle a little too difficult in my aisle seat (ok, fine…it was a middle chair). Tina does several vocal warm-ups and psychs herself up before reciting the same precise presentation about her college several times a day. This week starts my very first recruitment trip regarding the season in New York City, and I’ll be visiting four to five high schools each and every day to discuss the USC experience. Our applicant pool is large and diverse and my applicants’ understanding of USC and the university admission process will vary dramatically. After are some regarding the places where you will find me meeting students this fall in ny!

As you’re concluding your Calculus test or operating from Drama or MUN, I’m probably beneath the city on the subway traveling to one of my many school that is high in NYC.
